Submit a Manuscript
Dharohar publishes fewer books, and we publish them properly. If you are working on scholarship, literary memoir, research, or thought leadership rooted in a genuine respect for knowledge, we would be glad to read your work. Please review the guidelines below before submitting.
What We Publish
We welcome original, non-fiction and literary work across the domains at the heart of the Dharohar catalogue:
- Literary memoirs and reflective non-fiction
- Leadership, people, and organizational development
- Artificial intelligence, technology, and society
- Indian knowledge traditions, history, and culture
- Interdisciplinary research and thought leadership
We do not currently accept unsolicited fiction, poetry chapbooks, or academic theses without a publishing proposal.
How to Submit
Please send the following to our editorial team by email:
- A cover note (about half a page) — who you are and why this book needs to exist now.
- A synopsis of the full work (1–2 pages).
- A sample of 15–20 pages from the manuscript.
- A short author bio and your contact details.
File format: Please attach your material as a single PDF (preferred) or Word (.docx) document, under 15 MB. Name the file with your title and surname.
What Happens Next
We read every submission with care. Here is what you can expect:
- Acknowledgement — we confirm receipt of your submission within 5–7 working days.
- Editorial review — shortlisted manuscripts are read independently by our editors. This considered process typically takes 6–8 weeks.
- Decision — we respond either with an offer to discuss publication, constructive feedback, or a note that the work is not the right fit for our list at this time.
- Next steps — if we proceed, we agree a structural plan, editorial schedule, and terms together before any contract is signed.
Because we publish a deliberately small list, we are unable to publish every worthy manuscript — a decision not to proceed is never a judgement on the value of your work.
Your Work & Your Privacy
- You retain full copyright and ownership of your manuscript at all times. Submitting does not transfer any rights to Dharohar.
- We treat every submission as confidential and share it only with the editors involved in its review.
- We do not sell, publish, or forward your material or personal details to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Please keep your own copy of everything you send — we cannot return submitted materials.
